The AOHR-NE participates in the eighth Brussels Conference on “Supporting the future of Syria and the region”

The Arab Organization for Human Rights in North Europa (AOHR-NE) participated in the eighth Brussels Conference on “Supporting the future of Syria and the region” organised by the European Union.

The participation came in the context of the Day of Dialogue that engaged Syrian civil society from Syria, the neighbouring countries and the diaspora with main UN stakeholders and agencies, EU Member States, third countries representatives as well as international NGOs; on 30 April in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels.

The discussions included the humanitarian and political state of play and way forward, and reaffirmed the importance UN Security Council Resolution 2254 for a negotiated political solution to the conflict.

The program included a number of side events and a dedicated cultural programme.

It’s worth mentioning that the AOHR-NE in the process of organising a side event discussing the importance of empowering the refugees and asylum seekers in the diaspora to enable them to contribute in the peace process of Syria in line with the UNSCR 2254.

The organization was represented by a delegation consisting of Secretary General Mr. Omar Almasalmeh and the Board Member Ms. Nouzha Oulad Ben Taieb.
